The Storm Inside is the 4th album from Little Devils and the first to feature the current line up of Yoka on lead vocals, saxophone and flute, Big Ray on lead guitar, Sara Leigh Shaw on drums and Graeme Wheatley on bass and occasional vocals. This is the line up that has drawn fantastic reviews during 2014 for their storming live performances at festivals and venues throughout UK & Europe.
The band released a download single with a promo clip of their song “My Perfect You” on 24 March 2015 as a teaser for the album.
The single is available on all download sites and on the band’s website and the clip is featured on the band’s website and others including You Tube & Facebook. The single is being played by members of the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association DJs and many more.
The band is touring UK & Europe to promote the album from May onwards with a launch party in London on 14 May at Tamesis Dock, Albert Embankment, SE1 7PT – a Dutch Barge floating in the Thames! It just seems right!
One song from the album, “Deep Inside”, was featured on the compilation album “The Best of British Blues Vol 1” released by Krossborder Rekords and named as Album of the Month by the IBBA in January 2014. Alan Pearce, editor of Blues Matters, commented “Hell it has everything - great vocals, emotion, smooth, wild, everything simply comes together so well on this song!”
In 2014, Yoka was a finalist in the British Blues Awards as “Instrumentalist of the Year”. The band were named as “The Ones To Watch in 2015” in the WRC Annual Awards and their gig at the 100 Club in London was named as one of the best 5 gigs of 2014 in Music Riot.

Cafe BP, Antwerp. Belgium If Yoka was just the vocalist, she’d be excellent. If she also played flute, she’d be amazing. If she also played sax, she’d be astonishing. She does all of these things! When the guitarist let rip and believe me, he lets rip, there wasn’t the clichés and the SRV impersonations with this band, it was true blues – 21st Century Blues that’s what they say they play and I have to say, they ain’t lying!
Banana Peel Blues, Belgium. To fill the end of a concert season is a less straight forward task than you would think. Bands a-plenty but for the Banana Peel Blues Club, which has been going strong for almost half a century, you want something more, Little Devils provided just that!
Little Devils have only been around since 2010 but are already doing well in the new crop of British blues bands from Hokie Joint to BabaJack. Yoka with the graceful smile, charm, finesse & pure power had the audience eating out of her hand. Little Devils claim they play 21st Century Blues which is exactly what they do. These Devils have no problems qualifying for the Blues World Championships! Antoine Legat - www.rootstime.be
“Gt British R&B Festival, January - A brilliant set, loving Little Devils music.” Liz Aitken, Blues Doodles Magazine
100 Club, London, February – named by Music Riot as one of the BEST 5 GIGS OF 2014 - “It’s blues Jim, but not as we know it; Little Devils are fronted by singer and multi-instrumentalist (sax and flute), Yoka. The rhythm section of Graeme Wheatley and Sara Leigh Shaw (aka the Pintsized Powerhouse) built a solid base for Big Ray’s guitar and Yoka’s vocals and solos. The quality of the playing alone would put this gig up there with the best this year but this is also great fun; the band obviously enjoy themselves and audiences will always pick up on that. Great performances and big smiles all around the room; that’s a pretty good combination for a great night”. Allan McKay, Music Riot
The Hope Tavern, Market Rasen, October - “What a great gig at the Hope yesterday, I didn’t think you’d top your first visit - but you did, at this rate, next May will be off the Richter Scale!” Neil Spencer
Carlisle Blues Festival, November - ‘It was nice to see a ‘full on’ stage performance, giving blues a fresh edge with hints of rock and funk” Rosy Greer, Lancashire Blues Archive
Saltburn Blues Club - “A band with real presence, brimming with talent, energy & sheer performance knowhow. Lead singer/saxophonist/flautist, Yoka, had the audience rapt. There were no glasses clinking or background murmurings just a room mesmerised by talented musicians & the story they were telling. Fantastic!” Liz Ayres, Blues Matters
